Second Toughest in the Infants

As ever, the papers harp on about De Gea this morning, with Lindergaard making some comments after his Champions League performance, giving the papers the perfect opportunity to dredge up De Gea's mistakes. I'll ignore all that nonsense though, here's Lindergaard's quotes, from The Telegraph:
“If you expect me to say I am happy to be No 2, that is not how it is,” Lindegaard said. “I am here because I want to be No 1.
“If you’re good enough, you are going to play. And in the end, if I am good enough, I am going to be No 1.”"I have not had many opportunities to show who I am, but this [Benfica] was one of them and it was a big game."It shows how good the competition is because it is not as clear as last year who is first choice and who is second. I think we have good competition."We have at least two top goalkeepers and Ben Amos as well, who is very promising.“It is like that in all positions with United and that is how it should be.”
Which is a healthy attitude for Lindegaard to have, however the papers want to spin it.
This article in The Guardian concentrates on some quotes from Fletcher (we'll get there), but also has an extra bit from Lindegaard, praising Sir Alex:
"It [playing Benfica] was like a childhood dream coming true. The reflex save I made in the second-half I would never have made while in Norway or Denmark. It just goes to show how much I am improving since coming to Manchester United. Alex Ferguson has helped me a lot.
Onto Fletcher and, before Sunday's game he looks at the title race and warns of under-estimating Chelsea:
"I think Chelsea have been overlooked," Fletcher said. "Chelsea started the season on fire last year, but didn't win the league, so we have to be careful. Chelsea are a top side with a lot of experience. They have a new manager and they have brought younger, fresher and exciting players in. Liverpool have signed players as well, so it's a tough league to play in this season. Although the two Manchester clubs have started well, the other teams are going to be dangerous. With the quality of the teams in the league this year, I think it will be our biggest test so far to go and win the title."
Also before Sunday's game, Chelsea's Juan Mata cites Giggs as his childhood hero

“When I was growing up, I had many idols, like Dennis Bergkamp and Gianfranco Zola. But Ryan Giggs was an inspiration to me.
“I think he showed what he’s worth with that goal. He’s one of the best wingers ever. Perhaps I noticed Giggs because he plays in the same position as me. He was incredibly impressive, with his tackling, dribbling and general style.”
The Mirror have one of their "exclusives," which generally means its not true.  Anyway, they suggest the some Qatari dude wants to buy us.  It'll happen Monday apparently.  We'll see...
