Still more legs in the youth players "controversy." On the old stuff, David Gill had a few words to say about Le Havre:"We are not intimidating Le Havre, we have no intention of intimidating Le Havre, they can take whatever action they feel appropriate."We will not accept the good name of Manchester United being trawled around on websites and the press to say that we have done these things which we are not allowed to do and we would never do. We've done everything, we think, by the book." ...
"They can do whatever they feel is appropriate," Gill said of Le Havre's threatened complaint to football's global governing body. "We can defend our case in the football bodies. We are very comfortable doing that."
According to The Telegraph Pogba's parents are also considering legal action:
Pogba's parents are now understood to be considering a libel action against the club following suggestions that they received money and a house from United to sweeten a deal for their son to join.
The Times have a quote from Pogba's agent:
“No money had changed hands up front, though Paul will get a very good contract when he turns professional. All he has from United is a flat in Manchester for him and his mother to live in. The problem is that there are three things Le Havre do not have. They do not have a contract aspirant, they do not have convention of formation and they do not have a late-trigger contract. All they have is a contract of non-solicitation, which is invalid outside France.“We spent a long time ensuring that the document we signed with Manchester United was legally watertight.”
The Telegraph (and others) also run a story on some new complaint from Fiorentina about our signing of another youngster, Michele Fornasier, the only bit I'll quote is this paragraph:
Away from the witch-hunt, there's some quotes from Gary Neville:
With Italian clubs unable to sign players until their 16th [not certain but think this should read 18th] birthday, Fiorentina were unable to secure Fornasier to a binding contract prior to United's move and, as such, the grounds of their complaint to Fifa remain unclear. So get over it...
Away from the witch-hunt, there's some quotes from Gary Neville:
"Over the last two years injury has been a concern for me," he admitted.
"It is a concern for every footballer. It is frustrating.
"But it is not something I think about every day. I have just had to deal with it." ...
"I just hope to say as fit as possible and play games for the club," he said.
"I am doing everything I possibly can and the medical staff are helping me as well."
