Harder Better Faster Stronger

As I've said before The Mirror's website just doesn't update early enough, so I missed this ridiculous report from my main paper round up, by Michael Calvin. The headline slags off Berbatov and in the middle of the article is this:

In short, Rooney gave everything. He set an example, set the tone. His popularity is unchallenged.

No wonder Carlos Tevez is a disciple. He is another of life's labradors, content to chase sticks until he drops.

The contrast with Dimitar Berbatov, a pampered pussy cat, preening itself on a satin cushion, is a compelling sub plot to United's season.

It's all a matter of taste.

Argentine endeavour or Bulgarian subtlety? One is easier to appreciate than the other.

No evidence to support what he's saying about Berbatov, this is the only time he's mentioned in the article (although I'm assuming the final couple of sentences of the article are meant as a dig at him).
The hypocrisy of these sentences is ridiculous - he slags off Berbatov and then claims that it's a question of "endeavour" or "subtlety" - no it isn't. If it was you'd have praised Berbatov's subtlety, levelling the playing field for the subsequent discussion - a discussion he ducks out of with the "matter of taste" kop out.
As I pointed out in my original round up, Berbatov was working back yesterday. If people just unclouded their minds maybe they'd see the work Berbatov does. Just because Tevez is hard working it doesn't mean Berbatov isn't. Similarly, just because Tevez works hard it doesn't mean he doesn't have skills. The whole Tevez or Berbatov thing is really a false lead, and unfair on both parties.
