Let's just put the most pertinent fact right at the top:
4 points from 3 games needed to clinch the title. 3 points here and that means a draw against Arsenal Saturday seals it, meaning we can rest key players for the final game of the season in preparation for the Champions League Final. All that would seem to add up to us fielding a strong side today to get the points in the bag. Sir Alex had this to say:
Manchester United have beaten Wigan in all seven Premier League meetings with an aggregate score of 19-3.Need I say anymore? Guess I probably should...

All that would seem to add up to us fielding a strong side today to get the points in the bag. Sir Alex had this to say:
"It's a hard game and we have only had three days to prepare following the game against Manchester City," Ferguson said. "I'll freshen my team up and will make two or three changes again.
"We need to do that, to keep the squad playing. I've got a big squad, so I will use it.
Having already rested some key players against Man City the 2 or 3 changes could mean Carrick and Rooney coming back in. Ferdinand and Evans are both nursing injuries but at least one of them is expected to play. Sky Sports give this probable team:
All of which meandering about the issue leaves me with this team:
Van der Sar, Rafael, O'Shea, Vidic, Evra, Giggs, Fletcher, Scholes, Rooney, Ronaldo, Berbatov. So many options it's hard to know where to begin in predicting the team. Back 4, assume it's going to be Evans which leaves Rafael or O'Shea for right back. Go with Rafael. Midfield... who knows. So hard to second guess. Carrick let's assume will be back, Fletcher can't play Champions League final so assume he stays, Giggs started Sunday so he may not play. Ronaldo? Would be quite funny if Sir Alex choose to start him on the bench after Sunday's little "performance" but, can't see it, we'll be looking to win the game well and early, and his leaving the game early Sunday implies he's wanted for this game.
All of which meandering about the issue leaves me with this team:
VDS, Rafael, Evans, Vidic, Evra, Fletcher, Carrick, Scholes, Ronaldo, Berbatov, Rooney.Match facts. As pointed out at the beginning we have a very good record against Wigan and we can add to the confidence about the result with Wigan's current run of form:
Gained one point out of a last possible 15 from a goalless draw, home to Bolton.
Failed to win 13 of their last 15 Premier League matches; failing to score in nine of them.
And their record against the "Big 4":
And onto facts about us:
Only avoided defeat in four of their 31 matches against the 'Big Four'; Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United. The 1-1 draw with Liverpool at the JJB on 28 January is their only point in seven games against the elite quartet this season.Let's note that last bit again - their only point against the big 4 this season came against Liverpool...
And onto facts about us:
Won 17 of the last 19 Premier League matches.Prediction. 2-0 to us. A nice Wednesday evening run out, control the game, score a couple, keep possession, conserve energy. Not that I would ever be guilty of overconfidence... but we have been playing with a certain aura of invincibility lately and I really can't see Wigan, with not a great deal to play for, puncturing that.
The current total of 83 points after 35 games is two points up on last season, when they were also top of the table. Maximum points from their last three games would see them amass their highest total in a 20-club Premier League, and equal the 92 points accrued from 42 games in 1993-94.
RONALDO has scored seven goals in five starts and two substitute appearances against Wigan (Premier League and Carling Cup final).
Paul SCHOLES needs a double to reach 100 Premier League goals - all for United.
