Seeing as Steve Bennett has decided that Steven Taylor's offence against Ronaldo was only worthy of a yellow no further action can be taken against him. If it was anyone else other than Steve Bennett I think they would have seen it as a red card. Let's take a look at another incident when Mr Bennett decided a red was necessary, for Ronaldo against Portsmouth in 2007. Sir Alex that day said:
But Ferguson told MUTV: "Steve Bennett sent him off at City (in January 2006) and will have loved the opportunity to send him off again.
He added: "I've looked at the replay a few times now and there's nothing conclusive - you can't really see anything, but I believe he was provoked and he fell for it.
"He was surprised about the decision but really he's only himself to blame and now we're going to miss him for three games. It's a big blow."
The point being that Ronaldo's "head butt" in that game was less likely to cause injury than Taylor's arm across the throat. The other point being that there was "nothing conclusive" in the Ronaldo incident, whereas, having seen the video, Mr Bennett must have seen something conclusive in the Taylor incident. And the only conclusion, unless you've got a problem with Ronaldo, was a red card was warranted.
It also makes you wonder whether it was Ronaldo Bennett was referring to, in the News of The World tape in which he suggested players get themselves booked on purpose, when he said:

He (unclear) the ball, takes one step, two steps, turns his body and just f*****g launches himself. I mean two XXXXXX players go like that. But they are nowhere near him. If are in the wrong position, you’ve a penalty. So I got into a position and thought, ‘You cheating bastard’. That’s what you say to yourself.”It certainly could be, given that it seems like his attitude to Ronaldo is one of, "don't give him a f*****g thing".
