I'm looking forward to the Champions League returning, which says everything you need to know about today's paper round-up...

The Guardian at least manage to find a couple of stories, one being that Rooney has had a setback and will now not return against Derby at the weekend:
The striker, who has missed United's last six matches, aggravated the problem in training and Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed that he would not consider him for the trip to Pride Park on Sunday. The other being some comments Sir Alex has made about (not) retiring:
"You have to keep working hard with the same enthusiasm, especially when you're doing very well," he said. "In modern times some people retire at 50 or 55. A few years ago I thought the time was right for me to do the same, but it was a mistake. Now? I don't even think about it; I'm in a great club. There's always a challenge, there's always expectation and dealing with good players makes it much easier for me."He also has a little to say about what he expects from the rest of the season:
"We're at that time of the season when I expect the players to kick on," he said. "I've seen it over the years. We've not always excelled in the last part of the season and sometimes we've lost leagues in the run-in, but in most cases the players tend to respond and the present group seem to have a gear they can bring out."The longevity of Sir Alex is the basis for an article in The Mail; apparently 923 league managers have lost their jobs since Sir Alex took charge at Man Utd. Helpfully, The Mail provide a full club by club list...
The Mirror has some comments from Mike Phelan on the possibility of us winning the quadruple:
"Everybody wants the four trophies but it's never been done," said Phelan.
"It is obviously difficult and we are just happy to be in it at the moment, getting nearer to the finishing line in every competition.
"The club has been built to sustain challenges in four competitions."
And finally, as if to prove that there's nothing about, The Sun provides us with "Top 10 Famous Football Babes". Even here they manage to have a little dig at us; instead of the sexy babes the other clubs get, we are given, as a little joke, Lisa Riley, ex-Emmerdale, ex-You've Been Framed. The page at The Sun wouldn't let me copy their image, so I've found an even more unflattering image of my own to use, which I justify by saying that it exposes the sexism inherent in their "joke".
